Eevee evolutions in Kanto Tactics

Eevee’s branch follows its items and the surrounding team. Plan before combining the third copy.

How the branch is chosen

The game’s evolution resolver first checks the item votes attached to the merging Eevee copies. If those votes tie, it looks at the board’s matching-type synergies. A remaining tie uses the resolver’s fixed branch order.

Special Attack items point toward Vaporeon. Attack items point toward Flareon. Attack Speed, Energy and critical-stat items can point toward Jolteon. A component and a completed item contribute different vote weights, so the number of item icons alone is not enough to predict the outcome.

Pick the role your board needs

EvolutionTypeRoleSource tier
VaporeonWaterMageS within two-cost entries
JolteonElectricMarksmanA within two-cost entries
FlareonFireFighterB within two-cost entries

Vaporeon’s strong position in the external simulation does not make every Eevee a forced Vaporeon. Consider the items you already have, your existing type counts and the role missing from the board.

Before buying the third copy

  1. Inspect which Eevee copies will merge and which items they hold.
  2. Check your current board’s Water, Electric and Fire counts.
  3. Read the in-game evolution preview when available.
  4. Finish the merge after the branch matches the plan you want to play.
